Trump is doing NM delegation’s job, and better

Congressional Democrats are singularly obsessed with impeaching President Trump, forcing the president to step in and address the needs of the people being overlooked by their own representatives.

Instead of politicians who ignore their constituents while pursuing baseless impeachment charges, such as Rep. Deb Haaland, the people of New Mexico need representatives in Washington who actually care about improving the lives of the citizens they were elected to represent.

As someone who has spent her whole career in law enforcement, I can tell you that I’ve never seen charges as ridiculous as the ones Democrats have cooked up against President Trump. All of the “evidence” presented by Rep. Adam Schiff and his impeachment-crazed allies would be inadmissible in a court of law. They built their entire case on hearsay – something no real prosecutor is allowed to do – and then tried to sell it to the American people as legitimate.

Congressional Democrats spent months assuring the American people that they had a compelling case, only to produce two flimsy articles of impeachment that aren’t even based on actual crimes. They thought they could make up for what their case lacked in substance with biased show trials and one-sided political theater, but failed to sway the public. In fact, their strategy backfired spectacularly, driving voters in crucial swing states to turn sharply against the impeachment effort.

Instead of going down the road to impeachment with Pelosi, Haaland and her far-left radical colleagues could have spared themselves a great deal of trouble by simply putting the interests of their constituents first. It’s time to get to work and put the people above politics.

Violent crime is holding New Mexico hostage, devastating families and destroying economic development. Albuquerque, which lies within Haaland’s district, recorded more homicides this year than ever before. We need support from our federal partners to tackle this crime surge – in the form of both additional resources and enhanced border security – but the far-left progressives hate President Trump so much that they’ve refused to work with him, even on common-sense efforts to achieve bipartisan goals, such as keeping the American people safe. Fortunately, the Trump administration has taken steps to help state and local law enforcement agencies fight crime, even without the cooperation of Congresswoman Haaland.

Just last month, Attorney General William Barr came to Albuquerque to announce the arrest of more than 300 fugitives suspected of violent crimes. Those arrests came thanks to a new Department of Justice initiative, Operation Triple Beam, which gives state and local law enforcement access to more federal resources.

Operation Triple Beam is a perfect example of the sort of programs that New Mexico’s representatives should be championing on our behalf, yet it only came about because President Trump paid attention to the needs of forgotten Americans who have long been ignored by our out-of-touch politicians.

The same can be said about border security. While Democrats have resolutely obstructed every effort to address the illegal immigration crisis, the president has begun building the border wall and closing loopholes in our immigration law using his executive authority, and negotiating effective deals with Mexico and Central American countries.

In just under three years in office, President Trump has proven himself a more effective representative of New Mexico’s citizens than some of our own elected officials. The far-left liberal Democrats’ desperate efforts to remove him from office are a slap in the face to the very people who sent them to Congress in the first place.

For United States Congress, CD1

Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico native Michelle Garcia Holmes announced her candidacy for United States Congress, Congressional District 1 today. She has thirty years of experience as a commissioned law enforcement officer and has served as chief of staff for former Attorney General, Gary King. Throughout her career she has proven herself as a strong advocate for children, families, law enforcement, and civil rights.

Garcia Holmes said, “From a very early age I choose to go into public service. Those of us that have lived here a long time have seen the good times and tough times, times where you struggled to get a job, feed your family, pay the bills. I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck and I’m not afraid of a hard day’s work. I will work to make life easier for all New Mexicans.”

Garcia Holmes is a wife, mother and grandmother. She spent her career as a detective, investigating violent crimes – specifically those committed against women and children. As chief of staff for the Attorney General’s Office, Michelle Garcia Holmes oversaw projects providing outreach and education to rural and tribal communities. She worked across cultural backgrounds to educate New Mexicans on the dangers of methamphetamine and prescription drugs.

She also worked on collaborative efforts to fight government corruption, starting New Mexico’s first Government Accountability Division. She knows how to bring people together to achieve positive goals, shown through her work to pass New Mexico’s first anti-human trafficking law and tougher child pornography laws. This level of experience, both as a protector of the public and as an administrator and manager is ideal for cutting through the massive red tape plaguing Washington DC.

Garcia Holmes said, “Most run for office because they want power, or to push a party agenda. I believe it’s important to serve the people of New Mexico and I’ve proven that repeatedly over my thirty-year career of protecting our citizens. New Mexico is currently being kept down by ideological boundaries – the types of ideas which will ultimately cost

us our God-given rights, our culture, our unique identity, and most importantly our freedom. Our present leadership holding this office, Congresswoman Deb Haaland, supports a hardline party agenda which serves only the needs of politicians. New Mexico families, veterans, seniors and business owners expect their congress-person to listen to their needs and provide answers. I will listen, bring people together and get us moving in the right direction.”

“I am emboldened by what I see in our state every day because of what’s happening at a national level,” Garcia Holmes said. “A large portion of my district is Hispanic and our Hispanic community is flourishing right now, just like everyone else around the country. Hispanic median income has crossed over the $50,000/year mark for the first time in history” she pointed out, “and Hispanic unemployment is at an all-time record low of 4.2%. This is great news because it means new jobs are being created. The state’s economy has already grown by nearly 5% – the fastest economic growth rate in the entire country.

Finally, we are at the top of one of the best lists there is!”
“My great grandfather was a rancher in northern New Mexico, my grandmother was a teacher in Santa Rosa, and my father was a Marine Corps veteran who fought in World War II. They instilled in me the values I will take to Washington, I was taught to work hard, listen to what people have to say, and do your very best to make a difference in people’s lives.” Garcia Holmes said.

Michelle Garcia Holmes – Trump will prove pundits wrong, win NM

President Trump isn’t playing defense; he’s proudly presenting his impressive record of accomplishments to the people and fighting to grow the MAGA movement. In Rio Rancho, thousands of New Mexicans stood patiently in line for the latest Trump rally, proudly wearing their MAGA hats and Trump T-shirts to show how much they appreciate everything they’ve gained since President Trump has been in office.

The arena was packed with Hispanic American supporters of all ages, contradicting one of the media’s favorite narratives. This was no surprise, though, because Hispanic Americans are flourishing in President Trump’s America just like everyone else.

Hispanic median income, for instance, has crossed over $50,000 for the first time, helping to bring the Hispanic poverty rate closer to the national poverty rate than ever before. Hispanic unemployment, meanwhile, is at a record low of 4.2%, and Hispanic entrepreneurs are expanding and hiring new workers at a prodigious rate, aided by a 27% average revenue boost from the president’s tax cuts.

President Trump’s solid support among Hispanic voters was on clear display at the Rio Rancho rally. Several recent polls confirm Trump’s approval rating among Hispanic Americans is hovering at or near 50%, a figure that will keep growing as the economy continues to improve.

Hispanic Americans also understand the necessity of securing the border and protecting our communities from unfettered illegal immigration. As President Trump noted at the rally, Hispanic Americans support strong borders because we know the dangers of illegal immigration “better than anybody.” The roar of support that statement elicited was deafening.

Hispanic Americans have to live with the consequences of a porous border that is exploited by drug smugglers, human traffickers and other criminals who then proceed to terrorize our neighborhoods – especially in places where liberals have enacted their disastrous sanctuary policies. Liberals can speak abstractly about illegal immigration from the comfort of their gated communities, but we deal with the reality of it every single day.

Ending the crisis on the southern border has been President Trump’s top priority from the very beginning of his administration, which is yet another reason why Hispanic Americans in New Mexico support him so passionately.

Hispanics have put New Mexico back in play for 2020, and the president used his Rio Rancho rally to emphasize his commitment to earning our support for his reelection campaign. He certainly has a compelling case to make, given the impressive performance of New Mexico’s economy under his leadership.

In the first quarter of this year, New Mexico’s economy grew by a whopping 4.6%, the third-fastest rate in the country. Since January 2017, new business applications have increased by nearly 30%, more than any other state in the country. Over that same time span, more than 34,000 jobs have been created in New Mexico, driving the state unemployment rate down from 6.4% to just 4.9%.

The Democratic presidential candidates, however, not only want to reverse the pro-growth policies that sparked our economic recovery, they also want to destroy one of New Mexico’s most lucrative industries.

Thanks to … fracking, New Mexico’s energy sector is growing at breakneck pace, generating $17 billion in revenue in 2017. By 2030, industry analysts expect oil and gas production to top $70 billion, which will line government coffers with tax revenues, fund infrastructure projects, and provide well-paying jobs for local residents. Let us not forget that fracking provided the revenue that funded raises for our public school teachers this past year, as well.

Whereas President Trump has done everything in his power to facilitate domestic energy production, the Democrats are touting fracking bans that would kill New Mexico’s burgeoning energy boom in its cradle.

The president’s Rio Rancho rally was just the opening salvo as he prepares to take his message of prosperity to Hispanic Americans. With his appealing record, Donald Trump has no need to be defensive.
